Craig family, Vermilion
Craig, Vermilion, Edmonton, 1900s - I am researching our 'lost' Canadian family branch. My grandfather's brother Alexander Robert Craig died in a mining accident on January 5, 1907, and I have researched that this occurred at the Parkdale coal mine. The inquest into his death included the detail that his body was claimed by an uncle who lived near Vermilion and that his body was interred at Belmont. From family information the uncle must have been either James Craig, Alexander Craig or Thomas Hannah Craig. However, our family history is incomplete, so this is conjecture at this stage. Can anyone help provide details on Craig families in that area in 1907? Are there Craig families still in the area? The family originally came from Ballyboley, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Any help would be welcome.

George and Josephina (Ena) Gilpin
My great aunt, Josephina (Ena) Martin emigrated to Canada in 1920 to marry George Gilpin. They were married and initially lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They then moved to Toronto where I know they had at least one child, Margaret, born 1922. Ena returned in 1925 to visit her mother with Margaret and returned permanently to Canada. I understand they mave have moved to either Edmonton or Regina. George worked as a traveller for the Hudson Bay Wool Company which is now known as the Hudson Bay Company. In my depleting family here in Ireland I am keep to trace any relatives to the Gilpins.
