My husband is researching our family tree and we have an uncle who lived in Clover Bar: James Charles Chatterton Bremner (known as Charlie) he married Edith Lillian Fielders and also built the 'Bremner House'
We only discovered recently that Charlie died through suicide. The book David is writing is almost complete, but we need to liaise with any members of the 'Archie Boag' family (if there are any relatives still in Edmonton)Archie was Charlie's close friend (they were both from the same area in Scotland) to see if they can help discover the reason for such an action to take place. Contrary to rumour Charlie was very sound financially (we have obtained his will etc.) but his sudden death remains a mystery. The coroner's report is missing. His death cert says death by gunshot. It would be a relief to close this final chapter of his life in the book.
We will coming over from the UK next year for the opening of the 'Bremner House' and hope to research further at that time of course.
Any stories would be of interest
thanks for taking the time to read this

Hi, I am working to trace my wife's fathers family. We don't know much about them other than Royal came from Vegreville (we believe in his 30's). He was born in January 1909, or so we think. His father left/abandoned his family and went to Vancouver. At least one family member may have renamed himself "Bird" since Worbets translates to bird.
Thank you, Sam Brown

Looking for any information on Jessie Ross and her family who lived at RR3 Lacombe Alberta in the late 40s/early fifties and who may previously have farmed at Coronation.
Also Ann Aird (ne Ross?) who lived in Edmonton around the same time.
Jessie and possibly her husband would have emigrated from Scotland in the early part of the 20th century from Scotland. Possibly from Dornoch, where the family originally came from.
I rcently unearthed an album of photos sent to my mother, Jessie's niece. The photos are poorly captioned but include a Joe (Ross?), Gordon, Jack, Annie and Billy. Jessie had one possibly two sons who served in Europe in WW2 and visited the family home in Glasgow. After WW2 my mother planned to emigrate to Canada at the invitation of Jessie but changed her mind at the last minute. In the mid 50s the teenaged daughters of two of Jessie's sons visited Glasgow.
