William Edward Tillson

I am looking for information about William Edward Tillson and his family - Florence Annie Wilson Tillson(wife), Doris Lillian (daughter), and Marjory (daughter). Their address in 1914 was 457 Athabaska(spelling?) Ave, Edmonton according to border crossing records for his wife and baby daughter Marjory. I know that Marjory was born in Edmonton and immigrated into the US with her mother probably in 1914. I cannot find a record of Doris crossing the border but I know she did - she is my grandmother. But I understand that William never left there and died in about 1917. They immigrated from England in 1912 if that helps. Any information would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hughes, Murdoch

He homesteaded in a town called Orbindale, but worked in BC until he met his wife(Nora Eliza Brown) in Idaho and they ran away together and married in the parsonage in Irma. They lived there until circa 1919 and three daughters were born there, Mary,Emma and Maud. I am trying to get some documentation of the marriage and births if anyone could help, and also an idea where the farm was actually located. Murdoch was a member of the Orbindale Mason lodge.

Population 5th St + 1911

I have been researching my Grandfather and Grandmother , Alric and Emma Johnson. They lived in Kelliher, Saskatchewan. On the 1911 Census for Canada, I found the family in Edmonton where the Place of Habitation was listed as 5th St., Edmonton, Alberta. The people listed above them in the census was a John and Christina Edlan(not sure of spelling of last name). I cannot understand why they would be included in Edmonton Census unless they were visiting Edmonton at the time of the census taking. They were born in Sweden and so were the people who were listed above them in the census. All the information in the census for the fmily corresponds to what I have for the Johnson Family.
Any one who could help find out any information about these families living on 5th St. at this time would be most appreciated. I live in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Thank You

Welte family...aka Morgan

WELTE, MORGAN, EDMONTON, 1895
I am trying to research a family that lived in Edmonton in the 1890's. Their name was Welte. They were of German descent, possibly from Switzerland. The only first names I have are Ernest and Arthur. I believe they were brothers. When they left Canada for Mexico (they were miners) around 1911 they changed their last name to Morgan...I have no idea why. Has anyone come across this family in their research? Are there some old city directories from that time period which would assist in my research? Ernest was born in 1895 and Arthur may have been older by about 10-20 years. Any assistance you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Wife of famous steamboat captain

Segers, Athabasca Landing, 1887:
I am trying to find the name and death date of the second wife of Captain John Scribner Segers, whose name is mentioned in many books about steamboating in the Canadian northwest, including the Athabasca region. He and his daughter (and probably his wife) reportedly lived at Athabasca Landing in the 1880s. According to the Edmonton Bulletin he brought his new wife there in 1887, and she is said to have died within a few months - at Fort McMurray! But Fort McMurray has no record of her. I suspect it was Athasbasca Landing where she died and was buried. I believe he was Presbyterian.

I need this information for a book I am writing about extraordinary but little known historical figures who lived in the prairie provinces. Is Segers well-known in your area? He should be - he was a remarkable character, and his life was adventure-filled.

I hope someone can help me!
