I am looking for a Lorraine (Marie)Decalver. She was a waitress at a Hotel in Edmonton, probably late 1930s then went to Winnipeg. There was a Marie Decalver who according to the Henderson Directory who worked at the Salisbury house. Lorraine Decalver according to the Henderson Directory then worked at the Misericordia hospital as a switchboard operator. It was during this time she lived on Sherbrook Street at the Nurses residence while in confinment. She delivered me on April 1, 1941.I was born Mildred Eileen Decalver. She was said to be an attractive blond, with blue eyes, and about 5’4″ and could have been in her teens. She was French/Norweigen ancestry, Canadian born. There are not that many Decalvers to date that I have found. There are some non responsive Decalvers on Vancouver Island, but this is the closest I have come. She might have followed the Jewish religion, but allowed me by adoption to be baptised Roman Catholic in 1947. I have a line of Hiking Vikings that would like to know our origin. If you have any information, please contact me. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Laurine Whitfill SlyFoxisback@Aol.com , Orange, Ca USA
