The Edmonton Branch Research Services Committee will undertake limited genealogical research of Alberta sources. Queries may be mailed to: Edmonton Branch AGS, #162, 14315 – 118 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5L 4S6 or sent by email.

Alberta Genealogical Society Cemetery Database
This database of over 800,000 names, consists mainly of Alberta cemetery burials.

Alberta Homestead Records
The Alberta Genealogical Society created an all name index to help locate Alberta homestead files. Search the database by name or land location to find a microfilm and file number. The files can then be copied from microfilm held at the Provincial Archives of Alberta (PAA) in Edmonton or copies ordered from the Alberta Genealogical Society.

Alberta Probate Indexes
Alberta Probate/Surrogate Court records housed at the Provincial Archives of Alberta (PAA) are being indexed by PAA and Edmonton Branch, AGS volunteers. This is an ongoing project and more indexes will be made available as each court accession is completed. Click here for current probate  indexes.

Search an index compiled by the Edmonton Public Library to locate the date on which an obituary was published in the Edmonton Journal. Note that our index coverage is from January 1950 to December 1982.
